The current intensification of migra-tion processes is due to the pressure and the power that Globalization and Neoliberalism exert on nations. This incessant international migration of people constitutes new social realities for expelling and receiving societies. The way in which host-societies manage cul-tural diversity leads to social integration or exclusion of immigrants. The following paper aims to identify and analyze, through nine focus groups, the social signification of Latin American immigrants about the integration in Catalonia. This research presents an inter-disciplinary approach: discourse analysis, political science and social psychology. It employs a qualitative, phenomenological and empirical method. Through this work we’ll find out a polarized, euphoric and dysphoric, discourse about integration. However, skepticism prevails. This may be due to the uncertainty that characterizes the age in which we live.
