Abstract
The effectiveness of evaluation is on the extent is used to guide public decisionsfor improving public programs and for legislative actions at Congress. Therefore,this study aims to find out the use of evaluative evidence at the mexican Congress,through a qualitative analysis of health sector programs’ evaluations, a review ofthe legislative work and interviews of Congress people and staff at the legislativebranch during 2007–2018. The main findings point to the limited use of evaluationdue to its political role and other institutional factors. Finally, some proposals toenable the use of evaluative evidence in legislative agenda are offered.References
