LA VIDA DESPUÉS
EL ESTIGMA DE LAS Y LOS JÓVENES, QUE HAN EMITIDO COMPORTAMIENTO SUICIDA
Abstract
The objective of this research was to analyze the social reaction experienced by people after having made a suicide attempt. The main category of analysis was stigma, under the approach of Goffman’s theory. The methodological approach was qualitative and micro-sociological. The sampling was case-extreme and snowball, with ten participants between 21 and 28 years of age. The data collection instrument was the in-depth interview, and the design was Content Analysis, supported by Atlas.ti. The results highlighted the existence of a cycle in which suicidal behavior provokes a series of social reactions that stigmatize the person and this stigmatization, instead of inhibiting, enhances recidivism.
