LA CALIFICACIÓN DE LA ELECCIÓN JUDICIAL DE 2025
Abstract
This article examines the certification phase of judicial elections in Mexico, arguing that this stage reveals critical opportunities to improve the design and effects of the recently implemented judcial reform. The study begins with a review of district-level vote counts and aggregate results. It then examines the debates within the General Council of the National Electoral Institute (INE) regarding the validity of the elections, followed by disputes over the elegibility of candidates -particularly for Circuit Magistrates and District Judges. Finally, the article reviews the initial legal challenges and rulings issued by the Federal Electoral Tribunal (TEPJF), highlighting how this unprecedented process has exposed legal anf institucional tensions that require further attention for the design of future judicial elections.
