LOS ANTECEDENTES DE LA REFORMA
EL CONTEXTO POLÍTICO PREVIO A LA REFORMA JUDICIAL DE 2024 EN MÉXICO
Abstract
The democratic opening of the Mexican state during the 1990s was marked by increasing checks on political power—particularly the Executive—through the creation of Autonomous Constitutional Bodies (OCAS), as well as by the strengthening of the Judiciary through greater autonomy, among other reforms. This dynamic remained in place throughout the first decades of the 21st century, until the presidency of Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO), whose administration launched a political offensive against these institutions. The aim of this article is to describe the political context of López Obrador’s government to understand the so-called “Plan C,” with a particular focus on the 2024 judicial reform.
